Productive sessions and new Academic and Corporate Partners at UNITECH Spring Meetings
18 Mar 2013 in The Network by David Ward
The UNITECH International Society held its annual Spring Meetings last week in Zurich, and welcomed its newest Academic and Corporate Partners.
The Board Meeting, the Local Office Coordinators meeting, and the Academic Partners Meeting all took place, for the first time, in UNITECH’s Office – taking advantage of the increased facilities available there.
During the meetings information was shared to update UNITECH members on activities within the network, the programme and the office. Plans were advanced for the General Assembly Week in Milan and in particular for the events around the UNITECH Forum being held specially this year to coincide with Politecnico di Milano’s 150 year celebrations. Best practices were shared among members, particularly in the areas of attraction of students and their application process, of internships and the matching of students to Corporate Partners, and the cycle of activities run by Local office coordinators.
During the meetings UNITECH welcomed its new partners. It was the first meeting for representatives from INSA Lyon, our newest Academic Partner, who joined us last autumn, and a first opportunity for our three new Corporate Partners – Johnson Controls, ABB and Caterpillar – all of whom have joined us this year. ABB and Caterpillar were at the meetings and gave short introductions to their companies with their reasons for joining UNITECH. Johnson Controls were unable to make it to the meeting, but sent a message of introduction which was shared with the attendees.
We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with these new partners and a continuing productive and growing relationship with our established partners through 2013 and beyond.
