What attracted you to apply to the UNITECH programme?

The UNITECH programme attracted me because it offers a unique combination of academic exchange and professional experience.

What did you enjoy most about your experience in the UNITECH programme so far and how has the programme helped prepare you for the next steps in your career?

Initially, I valued the practical aspects of the exchange and professional experience. However, the most impactful part was the connections within the UNITECH community and the valuable workshops and mentoring sessions. These experiences broadened my perspective on personal and professional goals and provided me with insights from experienced professionals, which are invaluable in my current career.

Tell us more about your Academic Exchange? Where was your academic exchange? What did you enjoy the most? Which subjects were the most challenging or interesting?

My academic exchange took place at Trinity College Dublin. It was both a fun and challenging experience, requiring me to adapt to a different environment and study style. Coming from ETH Zurich, the shift to more project work and continuous assessment at Trinity was particularly challenging compared to the traditional lectures and final exams I was used to.

Where was your internship? Were there any challenges that you faced? How did you overcome them?

I did my UNITECH internship at AFRY Management Consulting. In general, internships provide an important experience to be able to apply the learned knowledge also in practice and orientate towards what you like and what not. Personally I found it challenging to get to know a lot of new topics in a short duration of time. But being able to cope with it is, and actively just doing, enables to get things done.

What are some of the biggest lessons you've learned in your career so far?

The biggest lessons I have learned are to clearly set your targets and continuously adapt to new trends and changes. It is crucial to keep learning and find enjoyment in your work, as it constitutes a significant part of your life. Having a great team and strong support from career sponsors and colleagues is also vital.

What are some of the biggest trends you see in your industry, and how are you preparing for them

A major trend is the integration of artificial intelligence into the workplace. It is essential to implement AI thoughtfully and in a structured manner to maximise its benefits.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?

Keep learning and clearly define your personal and professional goals, revisiting them regularly to stay on track. In a world overwhelmed with information, challenge the truth and find routines that help you disconnect from the information overload, allowing you to focus on what truly matters!
